How To Give A Funny Wedding Speech

By Mark Pommett Public speaking isnt easy for a lot of people. Public speaking at your own wedding? That is, for a number of people, the absolute worst experience possible. You have to stand up and make statements that people will remember in association with this most important occasion in your life, without giving undue offense to anyone. First and foremost, remember the cardinal rules of public speaking: Tell the audience what youre going to go over, go over it, and tell them what you just went over. In particular, keep the tone light, and keep an air of levity in your presentation. Make them laugh. Make them grin. Make them smile. First of all, if youre the groom, thank everyone who helped you with the wedding. Sometimes, being the groom at a wedding is sort of like being the prize steer at a stock show. The wedding planner coordinates everything, your bride-to-be is stressing out over all the details, and all you have to do is wear a tuxedo, hand her the ring and not screw up. So, by all means, praise your bride. Praise the bridesmaids. Praise your brides family, and thank them for raising the wonderful woman youre spending the rest of your life with. Then, praise the friends in the wedding party, who all tried to talk you out of this, and then wouldnt let you back out at the last minute. Praise your best man, and explain that the original duties of the best man were to fight off the brides brothers and cousins while the groom had time to escape with her through a window for a massive elopement. Do take the time to point out your single friends in the audience. Theyll appreciate it later, when they get singled out by the members of the wedding party trying to set them up. Do take the time to thank your parents for helping finance the ceremony. And then, you need to propose a toast. Now, youve proposed a toast to your wife, your future in-laws, and your parents, so the bounds of duty have been met. The final closing toast is traditionally meant to be funny, but be aware of the tastes of the wedding party. Something thats funny to a person in their 20s may be downright offensive to their grandparents, and you dont want to go down as being the man who offended everyone. Here are some classics: Heres to our wives and our loves. May they never meet. Ive put this date in my calendar. The best way to remember a wedding anniversary is to forget it once. Marriage is the union where man and woman become one. The trouble comes in when they try to decide which one. If youre the best man, you have the best gig at the wedding. You get to tell stories about Remember when and embarrass the groom. Be sure to bring up anecdotes about knowing them from high school, or knowing them from junior high school. In particular, praise the bride-to-be to the high heavens, then ask her if shes taken leave of her senses for marrying your friend. Shell laugh, everyone else will laugh, and the party can begin. Reclaiming Screen Printing Screens-Stencil Remover Versus Bleach

By Robert Jacob After you have coated your screen with photo emulsion, exposed the screen, screen printed with the screen, and then cleaned it, you may want to remove the photo emulsion so you can reuse the screen for your next screen printing project. I have read on many websites that you can use bleach when reclaiming your screens. So I decided to try it. I bought a gallon of bleach for a dollar at the local grocery store. After I had washed away the leftover ink using warm water, I brushed on some bleach, scrubbed it with a nylon bristle brush, and then let it sit for a while. Then I sprayed the screen with warm water. Some of the emulsion came off. I reapplied the bleach, scrubbed, waited, sprayed, and more came off. After about four applications, the screen was pretty much cleared. Basically, it was a lot of work, and used a lot of bleach. I decided to try stencil remover. Since a one quart bottle of stencil remover is significantly more expensive than a gallon of bleach, I hoped it worked. I poured just a little of the stencil remover on the screen, and used a nylon bristle paint brush to spread it around. Then I scrubbed lightly with a nylon bristle scrub brush, and waited for a few minutes. When I sprayed the screen with water, almost all of the emulsion was removed. Just a dab more stencil remover, and the rest was gone too. Compared to bleach, this stuff was magic. The stencil remover hands down beat the bleach. I have also read that bleach is harsher on the screens, and will shorten their life. As the old saying goes, use the right tool for the job. Rob Jacob has years of screen printing experience. Are No-Deposit Home Loans Your Choice?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Hugh_Thorpe]Hugh Thorpe I guess you have heard of a ‘no deposit home loan?’ If you told me, a couple of years ago, that you could get money for a loan with nothing but a guarantee of solid future earnings, I would have thought you were completely insane. However, nowadays this is a common occurrence. While the major banks hesitate to take risks like that, many newer and more adventurous lenders are taking this chance. Thus, many new homeowners with no deposit loans are really happy Usually, the kind of people who will benefit from this type of loan are those with high incomes in careers with good job security. The idea behind such a loan is that the costs of renting are less than the benefits of owning the home now and going into debt. However, this isn’t always the way it’s done. Sometimes, because of the high risk to the lender, there will be a premium interest rate of about 2% or even more than the current market rate. Now, it might be a good idea to consider all of this. You might want to find your old mortgage calculator and look at the long-term finances, or talk with a financial consultant and see if this might be a good idea for you. For lots of people, this is a great way to go. As most of us know, nothing in life is free, and you will have to pay some initial expenses like for example stamp duty, mortgage insurance and loan fees. If you are lucky enough to get a first-time buyers’ government grant, you can get around paying these expenses too. An important thing to keep in mind is that you must show that your income will be increasing over the term of the loan, whether it’s a va loan or another offline or online loan. If your income will be increasing over the course of the loan, you can put that income back into it and build equity. The state of the market has an influence on the availability of these loans. For example, in Australia, these no-deposit loans are getting rare because of the market. Lenders are choosier and stricter with their loan policies, and may raise interest rates, putting those with no-deposit loans in greater risk. You should also check and make sure the lender does not have exit fees that are too harsh. You have to really search the fine print. Lenders will often offer no-deposit loans on only certain types of properties, or properties in certain areas, depending on risk or resale value. Below are a few things you can do when considering your future finances: – Work out a budget for the next few years. Allow for a possible rise in interest rates. doing it This way, you won’t be caught unawares. – Make sure that you have all your other debts are under control before you commit to another. This is of huge importance! – Whenever you are able to it, pay some extra on your loans. Doing so will safeguard you against falling prices and rising interest rates. Give each other a twenty minute massage, and take it from there Here are a few more fun things you can do, if you have time, and money in the wallet. 1. See a live play at the theater 2. Why wait for you to both get bored with the relationship? Play together! Doing even simple things together can bring laughter and joy back into your conversations. Sharing pleasurable times together will not only bring you closer to your spouse, but will help you to remember who your spouse is. Often times, because of busy schedules and different agendas, couples don’t realize how easy it is to grow apart, until one day down the road they dont know each other anymore. Over the course of time, months or years, a growth process takes place, and you find that the person you married is changed because you have not grown together, but apart, and thats not good! So turn off that TV, and get to know each other again through sharing of your self. Above all, while doing these things together, remember to always share the best part of your self with your spouse. What is the best part of your self? Find it, and share it. There is no better gift of love that you can give your spouse than your willingness to accept them just the way they are. Acceptance is love, and by showing open-mindedness, understanding and patience with your spouse, your marriage can endure through the hard-hitting times as well as the enjoyable. Seven Qualities to Get a Job You Want

By Carol Miller There are a lot of companies which are employing graduates with strong education background and fluency in several foreign languages. But will you agree that there are quite many candidates meeting the following requirements? How will human resource managers select from all of them? Here your personal and business qualities count. There are some essential features a person should possess to impress the interviewer and get the job. You have graduated!!!! What a relief. You are free to manage your time as you wish. You dont have to think about your term paper topic for hours. You believe that all the difficulties are already behind. Partially it is so, but you still have to walk half of the way. It means that you should find a rewarding and challenging work to apply your education and develop yourself professionally. I will list down a few. Drive – energy and your desire to work. It is your attitude to work, your duties, and responsibilities. Of course you can approach your work formally, fulfilling your major duties with accuracy and on time. Surely, it is very important. But an employee with drive, the person who is enthusiastic and creative about his work is much more interesting for the potential employer. Creativity – your ability to offer exceptional ideas and innovative methods. You have a goal and you are to achieve it. And you suggest your ways of reaching it. This quality is especially important for marketing, advertising, though of course it will present you to advantage in any sphere of business. Result-oriented Can you always complete what you began doing? No matter what difficulties you have while working on it, you are to complete it by the deadline. Resilience – A man was walking, stumbled and fell down, and then he shook himself off and went on further. For example, you are taking part in a group discussion of some urgent problem. The idea you suggested made everyone laugh and no one approved it. You got offended, went into your shell and stopped proving your point of view. Then your resilience is very low. You should be able to stand your ground. Leadership – Employers hire a young specialist hoping that he has a great potential and in ten years time he will become a leader. Not everyone must be a leader and become a top manager afterwards. But a good manager, that is a person able to handle the organization of other people, is indispensable in any respectable company. Team-commitment many companies have a project system of management. Several people are working on some project. The success of the project depends on each member of the team. What matters here is your ability to get on with different people, find common language with all the staff and feel like a united team. One for all and all for one. In any business a strong team is a pledge of successful fulfillment of the project. Communication skills are of primary importance for any sphere, as there is no area where we can do without communication. How to make others listen to you, how to present yourself, how to uphold your point of view. This is a mini list of essential communicative skills. How can the employer know you have all these qualities? You will include them in your resume (e. g. mentioning that at college you were a group monitor and were involved in social activities). Give a brief and precise review of all your successful achievements in your resume. Dont get upset if you lack some of the qualities. As psychologists state you can develop all of them with the help of special exercises and trainings. Of course these qualities are significant not only for work, but of course for life in general. Remember, that we know what we are, but we dont know what we might be. Our resources are endless and thanks God that it is really so! Silk Orange Trees

By Kent Pinkerton A silk orange tree is a kind of artificial topiary tree adorned with real looking leaves, trunks and oranges. A silk orange tree placed at entryways and corners, or near windows gives a stylish look to your home. Silk orange trees are a great attraction in the gardens. The main advantage of a silk orange tree is that it is durable and does not lose its beauty. Further, it does not require watering and shedding, and can be easily cleaned with the help of a slightly dampened cloth. An imitation of natural orange trees, silk orange trees are generally made of high quality silk materials. They usually consist of tons of orange foliages and several hand painted foam orange fruits. Braided wood stems, foliages, and beautiful trunks add to the charm of these trees. Another special type is silk orange trees made of natural trunks and foliages. You can now buy silk orange trees in a variety of graceful styles, shapes, and sizes. In general, silk orange trees are pre-potted in terracotta containers or terracotta colored plastic pots. A wide range of baskets and planters are also available to suit any interior or exterior decoration. For best results, silk orange trees must be placed under protective covers. Besides being a perfect complement to any dcor, silk orange trees also form a perfect gift for birthdays and special occasions. The prices of silk orange trees depend on the quality of materials used in their creation. Nowadays, many of the US outlets, both local outlets and online stores, customize silk orange trees according to the need and specification of the customers, using high quality materials. Humor and Finding Your Perfect Match

By John Kinde Recently, someone I know created a web site to meet Ms Right. In his site he shared in great detail who he was and what he was looking for. A great idea and nicely written with lots of humor. After reading it, the humor side of my brain started asking questions. If I were designing my own personal web site, would it be appropriate to include Google Ads. Reasons for listing Google Ads. 1. If readers were bored with my biography, they would have convenient places to go. 2. If readers loved what they saw and they sent their friends to the site to check me out, their friends could shop for wedding gifts while they were there. 3. If the site got no responses, at least I’d make a few bucks on the side. Reasons for not listing Google Ads. 1. The ads might be more interesting than my biography. 2. They might run ads for someone else’s personal web site. 3. They might run ads for divorce attorneys. That got me thinking about seven years ago when I was creating my own internet personal ads looking for the right person. Did you know that when you tell people you’re looking for someone with three eyes, people with only two eyes will respond to your ad anyway? I also discovered that a generic ad, maybe 25-50 words, usually received no response. So I experimented with a long-form ad, over 1000 words. And would you believe that I included lots of humor? Every time I posted the longer ad, I received around 50 replies. I’m not sure whether they were attracted to me or to my writing! In my ads I included an Online Personals Dictionary with dozens of convenient translations of typical ad phrases into real-world language. This was a tongue-in-cheek “public service” to help people understand what personal ads were really saying. Here are a few samples: In shape = Round is a shape. Swimmers build = A whale swims. Honest = Will immediately stop chatting with you once you tell them your age. Open minded = Brains fell out years ago. Good looking = Able to look at things really well. Handsome = A quote from his mother. Educated = Will treat you like an idiot. Masculine = Looks like a caveman. Age is relative = Looks like your uncle. Athletic = Watches sports on TV. Visits gym = Loves looking at self in the mirror. Likes quiet evenings at home, candlelit dinners and walks in the rain = Not an original thought in his head. Long-term relationship = More than two weeks in length. Love at first sight = When two lonesome, non-selective people meet for the first time. In the ad, throughout my self-description, I would drop in an occasional bit of humor: “Ive never robbed a bank. Neither have you. Convenience store OK.” The response was overwhelmingly positive. I only received one negative reply in three posting of the longer, humorous ads. One person suggested I was bitter. The writer was probably very much in need of a laugh. The response told me it was definitely not a match for me. The ad was doing its job. The good news is that I met the love of my life through an online ad. I now have a terrific relationship and we laugh together every day. Copyright 2005 by John Kinde. Using Aromatherapy to Support Symptoms of Depression

By Eric Cech A fantastic and mysterious relationship is continuously unfolding between plants and their surroundings. These organic green machines are ceaselessly performing a glorious alchemy with water, soil, air and sunlight. The nearly infinite possible combinations of plant genetics and environmental conditions on the face of the earth have allowed for an almost immeasurable diversity of alchemal floral expression, resulting in a vast array of natural botanical materials. These range from simple staple foodstuffs to gourmet fruits and vegetables, from rich exotic spices to effective medicinal herbs, and from enchanting natural perfumes to complex therapeutic essential oils. Mankind is reaching ever further into the jungles and rainforests, knowing that nature is the true master of creation in these fields. The line between food-plants and medicinal herbs is a fuzzy one. Science regularly reports newfound medicinal effects in plants once taken for granted; many fruits once thought quite plain contain some of the world’s most potent anti-cancer agents. The same goes for teas – green tea is one of the most potent anti-oxidants known – and spices – cinnamon may prevent the onset of debilitating diabetes – and this list continues to grow. This same lack of distinction exists between natural fragrances and therapeutic essential oils. The oil of a rose, laden with Citronellol, does triple duty as a perfume, an effective agent against the herpes simplex virus, and an uplifting aromatic that can help one open emotionally after a traumatizing experience. The use of so-called ‘alternative’ therapies is on the rise; more individuals are turning to the wisdom of nature for assistance for all types of ailments, both physical and psychological. Interestingly, the source of most ills, from a naturopathic point of view, is being out-of-balance with nature. Eating unnatural things, following unnatural cycles, and living in unnatural environments. Lack of balance with the earth, from which we are made and upon which we live, leads to ‘dis-ease’ in our bodies and minds. As plants have created their wondrous botanical materials in a process guided by the rhythms of the heavens and earth, we may look to ‘plant wisdom’ to lead our way back into balance. A depressed emotional state is a common reasons for using complementary and alternative therapies today. A wide range of psychological, physical, and energetic issues can lead to feelings of depression and a pervasive outlook of negativity. Moreover, once in a state of depression, patterns can arise that make relief all the more difficult to find. The use of essential oils for uplifting the psyche and spirit is becoming more widespread because of the oils’ broad and dramatic effects. While the oils themselves may not directly affect the underlying cause of depression, they may help individuals break free from depressive cycles – they may provide the impetus to ‘get off the couch’, so to speak, and begin creating long lasting change. Many natural healers believe depression to be a result of, like many other ills, of being out of balance; being unable to ‘synch up’ with the natural state of harmony that permeates the universe. For relieving this is-harmony, aromatherapy can be a very powerful means to infuse one’s body and mind with the most concentrated, sublime botanicals nature has to offer. In humans, the olfactory (sense of smell) region is an area of about 2 and a half square centimeters, and is located in each of the two nasal cavities between and below the eyes. Containing approximately fifty million primary sensory receptor cells, this region is highly intricate, being 10,000 times more perceptive than the sense of taste. When compared to sight, we find that olfaction is more complex – it is able to distinguish a nearly infinite number of element compounds at very low concentrations. In order to perceive the visible spectrum, humans use only three types of photoreceptors; in contrast, the sense of smell relies on several hundred distinct classes of receptors. Modern research has shown natural plant oils stimulate multiple regions in the brain, including those controlling endocrine, immune, and limbic (emotional center) functions. Essential oils have a direct and profound effect on the deepest levels of the body, emotions, and psyche. Through inhalation, essential oils have a strong and immediate influence. Passing through the capillary beds of the sinuses and activating the olfactory nerves, volatile plant oils enter the brain, producing direct and powerful systemic effects – the most immediate being on the emotions. Our emotions and our sense of smell have very strong ties – perhaps more than with any other of the other four senses. In both Naturopathy and Ayurvedic Medicine (The Science of Life), essential oils are considered to enhance the flow of prana (essential life force), enhance and nourish ojas (sustaining energy and immunological essence), and brighten tejas (clarity and mental luminosity). In Traditional Chinese Medicine, essential oils in general are medicines for the Shen, the spiritual essence that resides in the heart and guides and governs consciousness. Used consciously, essential oils powerfully enhance positive mental and emotional states. Further, the medicinal properties of essential oils, through their ability to support physiological healing, can also be of great benefit to the heart and mind. A Korean study on the effect of aromatherapy on pain in patients with arthritis found that receiving massage with lavender, marjoram, eucalyptus, rosemary, and peppermint oils significantly decreased both the pain AND mental depression levels. Following are some oils that have a reputation for up-lifting Shen, enhancing prana, nourishing ojas, and brightening tejas – combinations that may have marked effects on symptoms of depression. These oils can be used alone or in combination in a nebulizing diffuser (producing a fine mist of oils for inhalation), or in aromatherapy massage, thereby inhaled and absorbed through the skin concurrently. Bergamot (pressed from the peels of bitter oranges) has a strong reputation for its ability to gently uplift. In terms of Chinese medicine, this is a direct result of its smoothing the flow of Liver-Qi (‘Chi’ or Life Force), the liver being thought of as the seat of the eternal soul. Bergamot combines the ability to both relax the nerves and refresh the Spirit; it is suitable for many types of depressive states. Neroli (from the flower of bitter oranges), like Bergamot, regulates the Qi – and like Jasmine flower oil, comforts the mind and heart. Neroli is called for at a core level, for the type of depression that comes from nervous and emotional exhaustion. Neroli uplifts the mind and Spirit with its potential to nourish and unify. Neroli assists in retrieving and releasing repressed emotions, with potential to nourish and unify a fragmented psyche. Neroli is specifically indicated for individuals who, in order to escape from emotional pain and suffering, cut themselves off from their feelings and senses. The Chamomiles (German and Roman) are wonderful oils to use when the depression manifests in a moody, irritable, dissatisfied outward expression associated with stagnant Liver-Qi. These flower oils are earthy, rich, and grounding with subtle uplifting qualities. When depression is of a Fire (overly aggressive) nature, it often involves an imbalance of joy and love – the root emotions of the heart and mind. Joy is an extension of Shen’s (spiritual essence’s) innate sense of harmony and perfection, an experience of emotional and spiritual well-being. The depression that afflicts the heart and Shen involves a loss of one’s natural sense of joy. There is often an accompanied lack of enthusiasm and interest as well as an inability to become inspired. Rose otto – steam distilled rose essential oil – or Rose Absolute may have a profound effect on this state. Rose is thought the premier heart opening aromatic, bringing joy, uplifting and restoring balance. What follows are a few recipes for uplifting and releasing depressed emotional states – use your intuition to find the right one. Often, the single essential oil or blend you find most attractive will be the one that serves you best. Experiment, explore, and have fun with these fantastic gifts of nature. These blends may be used in a diffuser or candle lamp, unless where a carrier oil is indicated – blends with carriers are intended specifically for aromatherapy massage (self-massage is very effective, as well as a simple massage from a friend or loved one). For releasing and opening the heart: 1 part Rose 3 parts Sandalwood 1 part Sweet Orange or Bergamot 3 parts Jasmine 1 part Ylang Ylang 1 part Sandalwood Brightening, refreshing and uplifting: 3 parts Bergamot 1 part Ylang Ylang 1 part Grapefruit 2 parts Bergamot 2 parts Clary Sage 1 part Frankincense 3 parts Bergamot or Sweet Orange 2 parts Clary Sage 2 parts Frankincense 1 part Lemon 1 part either Jasmine or Neroli Nourishing: 1 part (Roman) Chamomile 1 part Vanilla 10 parts Carrier oil of choice Floral and earthy (uplifting and softening to Spirit): 1 part Neroli 1 part Vanilla 1 part Orange 1 part Sandalwood 1 part Chamomile 1 part Bergamot 1 part Helichrysum Single oils can also be used, and should be investigated so one can learn the different energies of each plant. For depression associated with negativity: Bergamot, Chamomile, Helichrysum, Neroli, or Sweet Orange. For a profound lack of joy, try Rose, Jasmine, Patchouli, or Ylang Ylang. For overthinking and worry, try Frankincense, Lemon, Marjoram, Myrrh or Vetiver. For pessimism, regret and remorse, try Clary Sage, Cypress, Hyssop, or Pine needle. For doubt of one’s capacity to cope with overwhelming situations, try Juniper Berry. For cases of moderate to severe depression, professional help should always be sought. It is important to consider if you one requires professional help if the depression is overwhelming – while aromatherapy can provide support in a significant number of situations, it may not be for everyone. Essential oils can safely be used in conjunction with other treatments – consult your care giver to ensure there are no conflicts if medications have been prescribed. Dating a Non Christian

By Tracy Jones Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? -2 Corinthians 6:14 Any way you look at it, dating can be trickyespecially when religion is involved. Being raised in a Christian home where tradition runs deep, you may find yourself in the midst of a major battle when your heart is given to someone with different beliefs. There is, of course, nothing wrong with dating a non-Christian, just keep in mind that you marry who you date. If this is understood, and you are truly willing to accept and deal with the repercussions, all the more power to you. All we suggest is that you consider a few things before jumping in. What kind of dilemmas would you face in the future? Can a non-Christian help you spiritually, or will they gradually pull you down? It’s easy to compromise your standards and beliefs in order to stay appealing to that person, but is that really being true to yourself? It shouldn’t even be an option to alter everything you’ve based your life around because your beliefs have helped shape you into the person you are, the person that they fell for. Then there’s always the issue of children. What kind of foundation will their lives be built on? Would they be encouraged to attend church and live the principles that you live by, or will they be brought up in the middle of a constant tug-of-war? It general, it just seems to be easier on everyone, especially kids, when both parties follow the same rulebook. Then again, there are those occasional exceptions to the rule. We’ve all heard different stories of Christians dating non-Christians who eventually do turn their lives to God. They later marry and have strong, happy relationships with values centered on Christ. Or, there are those couples that just don’t let religion get in the way. Both are willing to compromise and let the other partner have their freedom to worship and live in a way that suits them. As promising as it sounds, though, it’s not always realistic. Many couples involved in “dual-faith” relationships will find themselves buried in conflict and heartache at some point, causing them to break up or divorce. It’s to be expected that meeting new people, especially people that you’re compatible with, is going to be challenging. But, consider carefully whether short-term gain is worth ending up with the wrong person. Falling in love is easy, but it’s hard to imagine ever voluntarily walking away from the relationship because your partner’s beliefs contradict your own. The bottom line is that it’s up to you who you date, because you’re the navigator of your future. No matter who you end up with, you’re bound to run into problems now and then. That just comes with the territory. From there, it’s up to you what happens. You’ll either choose to stick at it and work through the rough patches, or you’ll decide it’s too hard and back out. If it makes your decision any easier, just remember this advice: when a Christian and a non-Christian jump into a relationship, the scales are uneven and likely to tip! Tracy Jones was raised in a large and loving Christian family. As the president of her churchs youth program, Tracy was always very active in local and international ministries. Throughout school, she was a faithful member and treasurer of the local chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Tracy graduated from Florida State University in 1987 and has earned 18 years of business experience. Since 1997 she has spent her career building business in the technology industry with Yahoo!, Inc. and was recently recruited by Spark Networks to build the online Christian community through the ChristianMingle personals service.
